In newborn terms, that's practically an eternity! Honestly, there are so many other posts waiting in the queue, just needing a few more edits or some finishing touches. Lately, my time has felt stretched thin, what with everything going on. But you know, the love we’ve found in our little one and the bond within our family feels endless. So here goes—Weeks 37 and 38 of our maternity journey: 37 weeks The last few weeks of this pregnancy were something else. I was dilated to three centimeters and having contractions sporadically, almost like clockwork, except not really. And guess what? During this very photo shoot, I was deep into some pretty strong ones. Each pregnancy is unique, and with all three of mine, the physical and emotional experiences have been so different. I never had contractions like this with my older kids. Our youngest came into our lives in his own bold way, leaving quite the impression on us right from the start. 38 weeks Welcome to the world, sweet little Skylar Lee Blue! We only made it to 38 weeks, but that meant extra cuddle time with you, and we couldn't be happier. Every time I say your name, it feels like my heart might explode. Your silky dark hair, your soft milky skin, the way I gently stroke your forehead to help you drift off to sleep—those moments make my heart swell. Those eyes that search for me when you hear my voice—they remind me just how deeply I’ve fallen for you, my bright Skye. “There really are places in the heart you don’t even know exist until you love a child.” – Anne Lamott
