Vegetable prices fall further

Vegetable prices are still falling further. Yesterday, data from the Changsha Price Monitoring Center showed that from December 15 to 21, the prices of 62 grain and oil non-staple foods in Changsha steadily increased. The overall average price was 13.64 yuan, up 0.74% from the previous week. Among them, prices of vegetables, meat, eggs, and fish dropped by 4.71% and 0.15% respectively.

The relevant person in charge of the Changsha City Price Monitoring Center told the reporter that the recent weather has improved and the supply of vegetables has been sufficient, and prices have further dropped. Of the 16 vegetable varieties monitored, 13 species fell in price. Among them, the prices of rapeseed, radish, tomato and cabbage dropped most significantly, falling by 11.5%, 15.56%, 15.2%, and 12.44% respectively, and the average prices were 2.02 yuan, 0.86 yuan, 2.69 yuan, and 1.32 yuan per 500 grams respectively. The prices of Chinese cabbage, eggplant, carrots, green peppers, and peppers are between 3% and 9%.

Monitoring showed that the price of meat, poultry, eggs and fish in Changsha was generally stable, and the price variation of each species was not higher than 1.1%.

In the finished grain market in Changsha, the price of rice has become very attractive. The prices of the three varieties monitored have all increased. Early morning and late rice and glutinous rice rose by 4.7%, 1.97%, and 1.02%, respectively, and the average price was 1.98 yuan, 2.33 yuan, and 2.59 yuan per 500 grams. The price of beans and flour was the same as that of the previous period.

The prices of the six edible oil varieties monitored had “three rises and three levels”, of which, the average price of 5L loaded soybean blended oil rose by 2.9 yuan per barrel, or 5.1%, and peanut oil and rapeseed oil rose slightly.
