Morphological characteristics Adult body length 13-18mm, wingspan 43-63mm, body black and yellow. The forewing near the base has a wide yellow transverse streak, with two "Y"-shaped yellow lines in the middle, and a short cone-shaped pattern between the outer "Y" yellow lines and the outer edges. There are 3 yellow lines in the hind wings extending from the leading edge to the hip angle and gradually merge into one; the outer edges of the wings have black wavy lines, the wavy lines have 4 meniscus-shaped maculas, and the macular spots have 4-5 round blue spots. There are 5 bright red spots inward. The eggs are nearly spherical and slightly yellowish in color. The last instar larvae have a body length of about 30mm and are purple-black. There are black bristles on the head, and there are 6 dark bristly plexuses in the deep section of the chest and on the abdomen. There are 1-2 white long hairs in each bristly plexus. About 15mm in length, there are 4 protrusions on the back of the head.

Life habits Jilin, Zhejiang, born in the l generation, to the winter in the stone joints, the base of the trunk, under the dead leaves. Feathering occurs in Zhejiang in mid-March, and mating spawning occurs one or two days after emergence. Female adults live 22–25 days and male adults 17–20 days. The egg period is 20 to 25 days.
