Preparation of pigeons before artificial feeding

The young pigeons, which hatch from eggs and are raised in nests for sale or breeding purposes, are typically fed for 25 to 30 days during the "milk" period. During this time, they are nourished by their parents through a semi-digested feed known as "pigeon milk." This phase is crucial for their development, making it essential to provide careful and attentive care. Proper management during this stage ensures healthy growth and prepares them for future roles. 1. Prevent "Feed Bias" "Feed bias" occurs when there's a noticeable difference in size and strength between two pigeons in the same nest. To prevent this, if one pigeon is significantly larger or stronger, it can be temporarily separated to allow the weaker one more access to food. Alternatively, the two can be placed in different areas so both receive equal feeding opportunities. This helps maintain balance and ensures all pigeons grow at a similar rate. 2. Promote Digestion Between day 9 and day 13 after hatching, the pigeons' diet changes from a liquid slurry to a soft mash, and eventually to softened grains. This transition can sometimes cause digestive issues such as crop stasis, indigestion, or throat inflammation. To support digestion, you can start feeding them once a day with yeast tablets at 8 days old, or offer easily digestible grains like rice, wheat, sorghum, and green beans. These foods help ease the transition and support their growing bodies. 3. Side-by-Side Brooding At around 10 days of age, it’s beneficial to introduce side-by-side feeding. Pigeons of similar ages can be grouped together in small clusters (1-2 per group). If there's a size disparity within a pair, they can be rearranged among other similarly aged pigeons to ensure balanced feeding. This practice not only promotes better growth but also increases overall breeding success. 4. Early Weaning By weaning the 7-day-old pigeons early and providing artificial feeding, the breeding cycle can be shortened. This method allows parent pigeons to reproduce more frequently, thereby increasing the number of offspring per year. It’s an effective strategy for commercial breeders aiming to boost productivity without compromising the health of the young birds. By following these practices, pigeon keepers can ensure that their young birds grow strong, healthy, and ready for their next stages of life. Careful attention during the critical "milk" period sets the foundation for long-term success in pigeon rearing.

Freeze Dried Fruit Powder

Freeze-dried fruit powder is to freeze the raw material into a solid state first, and then dry it through vacuum, so that the water gradually sublimates out of the ice, and finally get the food raw material in the powder state. Freeze drying technology can completely preserve the taste and nutritional content of food without adding any other additives.
