Shandong and Taiwan University of Science and Technology Research Exchange

On November 17, the delegation of Secretary-General Chen Yuehong of the International and Cross-Strait Affairs Office of Taiwan University of Science and Technology visited the Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to visit and exchange. The two sides reached broad consensus on strengthening the exchange and cooperation in the scientific research of Chinese herbal medicine.

At the meeting, President Zhang Lixiang first expressed warm welcome on behalf of the school to the guests of Taiwan. He expressed willingness to strengthen the cooperation and exchanges between the two sides and seek common development. Vice President Zhan Wenxiang introduced the development situation of the university to the guests, and proposed that both sides have a great exchange and cooperation space in the standardized cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines, the preparation of traditional Chinese medicines, the identification of traditional Chinese medicines, and acupuncture and massage.

Secretary-General Chen Yuehong stated that the first visit was to promote the exchange and cooperation between the two sides in the research of Chinese herbal medicine, and the second was to promote the development of Chinese herbal medicine research forums across the Taiwan Strait. Accompanied by Dr. Chen Fu'an and Dr. Xie Deng'en in the College of Pharmacy and Health, the special lecture entitled “Development of Chinese Herbal Health Products and Essential Oil Products” and “Medicine and Health” were brought out. Subsequently, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the development of Chinese herbal medicine products, medical diets and health care, and hoped to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation through various channels and forms to achieve complementary advantages and win-win results.

According to the reporter's knowledge, at present, Shandong College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is implementing the establishment of a prestigious school with the characteristics of Shandong Province. Exchanges and cooperation between colleges and universities across the Taiwan Strait are conducive to the promotion of innovations in teaching, scientific research, and management, and further enhance the connotation of running a school.
