Strengthen the supervision of additives to ensure food safety

On October 12, the District Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision convened a food quality and safety work meeting to implement the main responsibility for the quality and safety of food production enterprises, further strengthen supervision, and strengthen the management of food production licenses, food additives, and commissioned processing filings. Some food production companies conduct on-site law enforcement inspections on such aspects as raw material procurement, production and processing, additive use, inspection into the factory, and finished product packaging identification. This is a microcosm of the Bureau’s efforts to strengthen supervision of food quality and safety. Since the beginning of this year, they have actively taken effective measures to strengthen food quality supervision and achieved remarkable results.

In order to ensure the food quality and safety of the people in the region, the District Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau has continuously strengthened supervision, involving a total of 1,100 law enforcement officers, 600 food company inspections, 12 complaint reports, and 16 food quality and safety cases investigated. In the specific work, the agency actively strengthened the construction of law enforcement teams. According to the ratio of 1:20 between supervisors and enterprises, 11 full-time food safety supervisors were deployed to regularly conduct inspections on related companies and effectively implement “grid supervision and responsibility”. On this basis, they took measures to strengthen the training of legal representatives and quality leaders of food and food-related product manufacturing companies, and strengthen the management of food production licenses. At the same time, the Bureau severely cracked down on the illegal addition of food, and carried out key links such as the hardware conditions of warehouses, workshops, laboratories, and other raw materials of the 150 food and food additive companies in the region, as well as the acceptance inspection of raw materials, finished product inspection, production process control, and the flow of recycled articles. Throughout the investigation, the company signed a “Responsibility Statement for the Use of Food Additives,” and registered the use of 230 3600 food additives of 90 companies. Special tests were conducted on plasticizers in beverages and brighteners in wheat flour. Product testing was conducted on 4 dairy product companies and 42 dairy-containing food companies. In addition, it actively carried out special rectification work on “oil production” and conducted two law enforcement inspections on 11 edible oil production enterprises and 35 edible oil use enterprises, and sampled 18 batches of samples.
